Today the CJA Deltas held its inaugural Interfaith Prayer Breakfast at Pines Manor in Edison, NJ. Guests were welcomed by Fundraising Chairs Shakira Sebastian and Marguerite Mitchell-Ivey. Soror Tamu Lawhorne was entertaining and eloquent as Mistress of Ceremonies. Greetings were shared by Chapter President Patricia D. Williamson, New Jersey State Coordinator Dr. Donna Marable, New Jersey State Facilitator Shenell Myers, and Eastern Regional Director Rosie Allen-Herring. After a tasty breakfast, the CJA Choir ministered in song as guests, clearly moved, rose to their feet. The highlight of the event was the word brought by 22nd National President Rev. Dr. Gwendolyn E. Boyd, the featured guest speaker. Her message celebrated how far we’ve come, but it was also a call to action for the work we have left to do. “Hush, hush, somebody’s calling your name…what will you do?” Boyd challenged. The CJA Deltas then recognized several churches in our service area that have been partners in the work we do and have supported the chapter in many ways: North Stelton AME Church (Edison), Agape House (North Plainfield), First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens (Somerset), and Shiloh Baptist Church (Plainfield). CJA Chaplain Andrea Lawrence Hyatt then gave the benediction. It was a fabulous and spirit-filled event hosted by our hardworking Fundraising Committee. #CJADeltas #InterfaithPrayerBreakfast #EasternRegionDST

In summer 2020, we were outraged at the brutal killing of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and so many others. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we donned our masks and marched for justice at multiple demonstrations. #tbt #BLM #justice #WeAreSocialAction #CJADeltas
